Yes I understand how it feels that suddenly you two seem to be living different worlds despite living under the same roof - the husband goes out to work and meets people outside whereas your work and whole life is within the context of family and schools and doctors visits (hopefully not a lot).
However, you can try "deh" him by giving him overview of minor decisions you made for the family during the day and asks him for his opinion or how he would deal with it as if you are seeking his advice. This is what I find works with my c6
This way, you can get him involved a little in household matters and opens up topics for chit chat you both fell asleep in bed.
the point is to make him feel that you and the family needs him, not only for the money, but him in general. Men love to feel being the person in charge, being needed and important.
