actually taking a 2 months old on a trip is not at all a bad idea. Because the baby is under your control (v.s. a toddler who has his/her own will and can move about to try to get what he/she wants, and worse still strongly express his/her dissatisfaction i.e. tandrum when he/she is not happy), he/she is not mobile so you can place him/her "anywhere" and he/she will stay there. Bassinets are available on the plane; you only need to bring formula if you are not breastfeeding, no need to worry about solid foods; the baby pretty much sleeps most of the day and you don't need to plan your trip to entertain him/her. Of course you will still need to be sensitive to his/her needs but I would say bringing a baby on a trip is actually easier than bringing a toddler. I took my baby to Australia for 2 weeks when she was 2 months old and everybody had a great time.
