total around 8 story books, hard cover, selling at Commercial Press at HK$16@.
Or you can buy the US/UK Richard Scarry books from Dymxxxx, Pg1, Idxx, etc. but these are usually more expensive than the $16@ ones. Can also order them from online bookshops eg www.paddyfield.com; rainbowboat.com, and also from overseas online bookshops eg www.amazon.com.
O, but you seem to be Shanghai now.
So you may need to ask somebody to buy for you from HK, or see if SH mums can help you out.
In fact, I am in Hong Kong now due to some personal reason. I will stay until after CNY so I can do shopping and buy things that I can't find in SH.
I have already bought the series from Commercial Press that you mentioned. My daughter also asked me to tell her the story before she slept. :-(
Now she forgot her Barney (I also bought all the VCDs) and eager to have Richard Scarry....
I have no experience on on-line shopping except dangdang and mmbbclub when I was in Shanghai. It was really really convenient and I only have to pay when I received their goods.
Anyway, I will search the books from the web you suggested.
i saw some at East West Publication at their Kwun TOng warehouse sale. But that set i think is for kids around 3 years old. you can go to their website to preview.
I also find one to two books of RC from Idxx, but they are more like a picture dictionary than story book. As I have got many different type of picture dictionary, it is not worth to buy.
I bought them from Commercial Press at Star House, TST. The shop still have many stocks. The series has 8 hardcover books altogether @16 each, every worth to buy. I can't remember the exact books name, similiar to "Mother Cat's busy day", "Father Cat's busy day" ........ so on.
Those books are placed at English Children books corner.
