i also learnt from there. it's good to learn some tips and tricks before you try another kind of cake yourself. New York Cheese Cake is the only lesson I learnt, however, the style she taught is more like Japanes cheese cake (i.e. "yee tun ka" cheese cake). so i search internet and tried another recipe, it taste good. if you need it, let me know.

I hope I did not mislead you. I meant learning at least one lesson from the cake shop is good, after that you can check other cake recipes in the internet. One of the best web site is http://www.cooks.com/

I got the new york cheese cake recipe from there, it's also attached below fyi:


1 lb. ricotta cheese
1 lb. cream cheese (2 lg.)
1 1/2 c. sugar ("c." mean "cup", however, 1 1/2 cup maybe too sweet. I just add 1 to 1 1/4 cup)
4 eggs
juice of 1/2 lemon
1/4 tsp. vanilla
3 tbsp. cornstarch
3 tbsp. flour
1/4 c. melted butter
1 (8 oz.) pt. sour cream
Blend ricotta and cream cheese in a mixer. Gradually add sugar. Beat eggs in one at a time. Add lemon, vanilla, cornstarch, flour and melted butter. Mix until smooth. Then blend in sour cream. Pour into a 9 inch greased and floured spring form pan. Cook 1 hour at 350 degrees. Turn off oven and do not open the door for 2 hours. Top with cherries, strawberries or the fruit of your choice.
