I still thinking about this, but I will keep checking in both of hosiptal till to last min. I thought it should be same if you can natural deliver the baby. But if you can't...that private hospital is more flexible. Right?
Anybody have idea of this???
private hospital- good if you opt for a caesarean section, want good customer service, and is confident there will be no big health issue with baby
but if you would prefer a natural birth unless necessary, you should trust your private doctor 100% that he will not somehow push you for a caesarean section to suit his schedule (much much more convenient for him, he spends much less time and gets paid more).
i went to both private and public for check up until week 35; my private doctor (quite well known ) suggested i have a c-section cos the baby is ready (at 35 weeks?) and i m putting too much weight on (i put on 12 kg, pretty standard!) i have no particular health problem! yes he is busy all the time and not a patient person.
public hospital- i went to queen mary, found their service very professional, but not too customer oriented. i had a smooth natural birth but my son being marginally premature was put in the Intensive Care Unit immediately---so glad we were there cos i met other moms whose babies had problems too but had to be transferred from private hospitals (no ICU) to there, takes time.
i've heard horror stories about public hospitals, luckily i had a very good experience
so don't think of it just being a choice of whether u can afford it or not! (in our case everything was fully covered by husband's insurance in any case)
