You can add "Sweet Potato" into the congee (if the baby is over 7-8months who can start to eat congee). If your baby is eating solids, add 4-5 spoons of vege for each meal. Also, 1/2 - 1 fruit per day. And, drink more and more water/juice/milk. You know, no water no poopoo.
Ooops... you said your baby is 1 week old? Umm... if 1 week no poopoo, go to see doctor lar. Again, drink more water/milk. If you are still afraid, you can call the nurse of c+ clinic or call the nurse at MCH (Health Care Center) and ask for their help as well. If you are close to MCH, you can just bring the baby to the center and ask the nurse for advice, they will tell you whether you need to see doctor or not.
I saw you posted several messages for help... I'm worried about you now... do you have relatives who could help you and let you take some rest?
Baby cries could have many different reasons, e.g.:
- Hungry
- Too cold/too hot
- Air in the stomach
- Too sleepy
- Nappy dirty
- ...
So, we usually check 2 things first: (1) time to change nappy??, (2) time to feed.
If these 2 things are done, but the baby still cries, try to check whether the baby has too much/too less clothes, or, maybe he/she wants someone to carry him/her to get the comfort feeling.
Remember after each meal, you have to "pat the baby to let the air come out", otherwise, they will feel very uncomfortable about the stomach air.
Remember to give the baby the feeling of DAY and NIGHT. Day time, open the curtain and night time, close the curtain, then, the baby will start to recognize day/night and will sleep accordingly. Don't expect 1-week old baby knows Day and Night, as they have no Day/Night inside our stomach for 9 months.
let me know if you have more questions. Hope this helps.
