Most people have a wrong perception about 托嬰園. Let me share my real life experience:
My son is 4-year old, he grew-up in 托嬰園 (from 2-month old to 2 year old), I like it very much. He has started to talk in simple sentense when he was 1 year-old. Because they grow-up as a group, he learns very quickly on everything, has very good character, not afraid of talking to strangers. I remember we paid 4500 or 4800 per month, it is more than hiring a maid, but I still prefer him to grow in a safe and happy environment .
You have to remember : the first 3 years of a child is very important. In creche 托嬰園, care providers will start different kind of interactive activities with baby. They play music to all kids, they read to them, have books in every corner, lots of space for them to crawl. Do you think your maid will do it?
Don't believe in:
- they won't change diaper etc.. my son never has rash on his bottom during the 2 years. He was always clean and smell good when I picked him up. I am rather mad at his kindergarten, whenever I pick him up, he looks like a dirty beggar with sticky hands and sticky mouth.
- they will let the baby cry, no one will care... Don't believe it, you can spot check. I did it, my mom did it and my mother in-law did it, we showed up without any notice, you can hardly hear all babies cry at the same time.
My son is doing excellent in his school. He speaks English, Cantonese and Putonghua fluently. He starts to read on his own when he was 3-year old. He is 4-year old in April and can read Primary school english books.
