basilmama,
唉~~ 我仲諗住入黎講d 安慰既說話, 點知......哈哈! Wishing you have a great day too. 我今日個breast 好痛, 我諗又係乳線炎喇, 可能要食antibiotics ...!
Hi AKLAMY
try not to take antibiotics if possible because the antibiotics will kill all the bad and good germs. Once the good germs are killed the yeast in your body will grow really fast especially in the nipple areas which is moist and nutritious and is the best place for yeast to grow. Then you may suffer from yeast infection like what I did. Yeast infection in the nipples is very painful and is very hard to cure (hand tail long).
This is an extract from an LLL article:
You may be at higher risk for developing thrush if you or your baby has had a recent course of antibiotics, your nipples are cracked or damaged or you are taking oral contraceptives or steroids (such as for asthma).

suetso,
Thanks for the very useful information. Recently my baby has been sucking his hands so much, so I thought the germs might have passed into my breast through drinking milk. I will wait to see if the pain goes away in these few days, otherwise I need to seek some medical help.
So, what did you do when you had yeast infection last time? Is this infection really 手尾長? In what ways? Look forward to hearing from you.
Hi AKLAMY
I had yeast infection after my second admission to the hospital when my bb was only 2 weeks old. I didn't know it was yeast infection. I felt so painful during breastfeeding and even an hour or two after breastfeeding. The pain was very sharp stabbing pain. I saw almost 4 lactatians and 5 doctors and it's the 2nd lactatian I saw diagnosed my problem. She asked my to do tones of things in order to heal myself such as taking pills, putting gentian violet, yoghurt, grapefruit seed extra on my nipples, and so on. I did that for almost 3 months until I felt no pain. That's a nightmare!
So be very careful before taking antibotics.
When you look for medical help, try to look for those who support breastfeeding. All doctors say they support, but most of them are not supportive. All the doctors I saw from the public hospital and government clinic asked me to quit bf when I told them my pain.
The lactatian who diagnosed my problem is very experienced but expensive. She does home visit and it cost 6XX per visit. You can also go to the Matelda Hospital in Peak Road. The hospital has a baby clinic on Tue and Thur and it only costs you $150 to see a lactation. You can call the hospital to ask for the detail.
And the Newman website is very informative too. I read all of them!
