the maids working in HK are over protected under HKSAR labour regulations. So many HK people are working here can earn only 3K per month and they all need to pay rent, food, etc...on the other hand, the maids earn 3K,but employers provide food, accomodaitons, etc to them,,,they "pure pocket" 3K monthly...better than so many HK people....Also, I think maids should buy thier own perosnal daily products, like shampoo, toothpaste, NOT provided by employers.....agree?????????
DHs buy their own necessities, like toothpaste, shampoo, napkins are normal. They have their own salary.
We are responsible for their 100% medical expenses, food (I provide 4 meals for my maid, incl. afternoon tea). Why those maids blame their employers not allow them to eat their snack. Employers are not responsible to buy them snack, like chocolate, .... soft drink.
I think many employers of DHs have experienced their maids steel their food and drink, even bird nest. Why they can blame their employers in this way? Their salary are net, they don't have to pay rent and rates, water, electricity, gas, medical, food and transportation.... They just want to get more.
I think majority of employers will not ill treat them because we rely on the maid to take care of our families and children so that we can go out to work.
My old maids stole many of my commodities, including food, drink, detergent...., she even ignored the safety of my children so I have to employ an additional baby-sitter. I also received many complaints about that maid [from residents in the same housing estates and people in the hospital (for my children admitted to hospitals and people there seen her behaviour and performance)]. Who protect us?
講黎都sai氣、激氣！一日政府唔改例我地都唔會有好日子過。好似我個印咁七月就完約，已經講會同佢續約，佢比起以前個的真係唔錯。但琴日就用左我大半個鐘頭同佢對話，佢話我look fierce，why always angry with her silently and ask her to go for day off，佢話prefer我scold佢instead of what i am doing，淨係發現要再做就叫佢做，當然唔會笑住口啦！我就答唔係大錯點解要鬧，點解要我勞氣，如果我地唔係required俾咁多假，我一定唔會！跟住就同佢講最近叫佢做一的野，佢一定有野講，重有好多好多。佢話或者唔續約，我話妳有權，無得迫妳，但妳要understand我地做工，人地出糧俾妳就要照做，唔係妳叫employer點做去please妳。真係唔知應該點做一個聽話既employer！唔知佢地想點！
