New maid arrived today....but not as good as my previous one

My new maid just arrived today. This is my third maid and she needs to take care of my 3-yr old boy. Maybe my previous was too good, this one seems not smart and a bit 'stupid'. I bought her a new pillow, she just put on a pillow case without taking out the plastic cover!? ?-( She also does not know how to play with my son (she said she took care of 4-yr old boy b4). Most of the time she just stood there and doesn't know what to do. I'm so worried that she does not know how to take care of him after I return to work next week. :cry:

Why did you not renew the contract with your previous maid ? Is it possible to employ your previous maid again?

My previous maid asked for $4000 and I don't think it's worth it after the first contract only. She also said she want to try other family, so I let her go.

My new maid basically doesn't know anything (she came to HK b4). She also stands beside me and doesn't know what to do and not initiative. The main thing is she doesn't really know how to play and take care of my son. I want to change another maid. :-(

She is totally拾拾下. I asked her to bring some macaroni for my son, she took out one full bowl with hot soup. My sonis only 3 yrs old and he may spill over. Then I asked her to prepare bath for my son, she doesn't know how to prepare the water. She claimed she had taken care of kids b4, now I really doubted. she also claimed she knows how to cook, but actually not the case. I only have 1 more week to train her, but I really wonder if she can handle independently.

what the agent and the maid said are not 100% true, as other bk mom suggested, treat her like a fresh one and set a period for her to pick up the work, if not, then u can think of changing another one.

你應比d機會佢,黎左1day就炒,未免浪费,又要時間去揾新人,真係好惨架(我指你呀),試吓寫底step by step,你知佢地唔條白痴就精到鬼條架啦!

洗白白嘅step, 比野食小朋友食要點改做,抹地要點做,當正佢你新人吔鄙都唔識就得.

I have the same situation as u. I fried my previous maid because she argued with me at one night and always show me her long face. However, I almost get mad with my new maid who came only 2 and half weeks. Like yours, she doesn't know how to take care of a kid (my boy is 4 years old) even though I taught her many times. She is very careless and 拾下拾下. As my another baby will give birth in this July, I worry a lot how can she handle two kids and I don't think she has this ability. Besides, she totally doesn't know cooking, I haven't taken 1 meal by her since her arrived. I don't know what did she cook for my son actually. (Everyday is pasta with pork).

After thinking and thinking, I decided re-employ my previous maid again. Although she sometimes show me her long face, she really did very good in others aspects and didn't do any bad things in the past few years. I don't want to take a risk again, and in fact i have no time to train another maid.

I was thinking of rehiring my previous maid. She was good in everything but asking for $4000. But I could not find her number.

Anyway,I will fire this maid. she made some fatal mistakes. The day b4, she gave macaroni with full bowl of hot soup to my son and yesterday she gave hot water to my son to brush his teeth. She doesn't have enough common sense so I don't feel confident to et her take care of my son alone in the daytime.
Also, one big problem, she has bad breath (口氣大) and I don't feel like talking to her. Now I'm looking for another maid and I hope I can find one soon.

如果佢咁樣照顧你個小朋友, 我都贊成你快d炒佢. 費時再比佢咁照顧小朋友法, touch　wood 唔知會有咩事發生. 我依家個maid就係exactly好似你個咁, 無common sense, 又唔細心. 咁點可以take care 小朋友呢. 所以我地對佢地無信心是很正常. (無信心又點可以令我地安心上班呢).

其實我本來往都無之前個maid的電話, 但有日收到寄比佢的電話單, 咁我打開睇到有個電話佢成日打的, 咪試下打去搵佢, 點知又好好彩比我地搵到. 之後我地就作左一個故仔問佢有無意思返黎做囉. 你諗真d有無辦法搵到佢.

我真係頂佢唔順,頭先買完野返來,俾我發現唔記得拔key,條key仲插住響keyhole,你話幾危險,tomorrow will be her last day.
今日有個現成試工,都幾滿意,係要等2-3個weeks,希望呢個OK啦.

我個工人又係, 黎左1.5個月, 已經17/4走左. 唔識照顧bb, 豬豬地, 原來佢之前個老板係全職照顧bb同煮飯, 個工人有經驗=冇經驗, 我嘔晒血. 仲以為自己要求過高, 但見大家結果都係抄. 而家搵左個現成, 試左工簽左約, 但要等一個月.

所以我覺得話自己做過的工人,可以搵到前老細傾下先好想下請唔請佢...因點都有番甘上下數據知個工人係咩人.....做野點!!!

I scolded my maid badly last night. I told her to take out the fruit from the fridge earlier (cos it's too cold) at 6:30pm. At 8:15, I asked her to prepare friut (usually we have fruit at 8:00pm. And I found out she had not taken the fruit out. Fine, do it now then and she took out the fruit. Then she started cleaning the washing machine I was so mad that I asked her to prepare the fruit now and my son asked her for oranges 2 times already. It seems that she was dreaming and did not know what she's supposed to do. Anyway, I will fire her tomorrow and my agent will send someone to pick her up and talk to her if needed.
My new maid will come in mid-May after she finishes her current contract. Hope this one is good.
