I recently bought a MAG DW7216 160GB DVD-recorder at less than $2000 (www.vis.com.hk). It has Nicam, G-code and most of the features I wanted. I am quite happy with it so far.
Some people said Grundig (about $2100 with HDMI) was also good but Hyundai was lousy.
Yes, If the ＤＶＤ錄影機 has harddisk, you simply record all the program on it without the DVD disc. It is very convenience and don't worry the time limitation of DVD dics. Especially when you want to record all the world cup matches.
For recording 家用cam, it is better to has the IEEE-1394 terminal to transfer the video in high quality without loss.
