go to the great barrier reef, but don't go to green island as it is for tour. you can try the small diving trip (you can dive or just snorkel) and there are only 30-50 peoples in the ship and will go to the farest area.

From Carins, you can fly or drive to
Alice Spring where you can see
many aboriginal people stay there.
