I am planning a trip to west coast US this coming christmas with family and kids. Any suggestion of places we should go and any furthe valuable information??
The main tourist citites on the West coasts are San Francisco, Los Angeles & Las Vegas.
Attractions in each city:
1. SF:
- Golden Gate Bridge
- Fisherman's Wharf
- Alcatraz Island (an old prison)
- Lake Tahoe (excursion to suburb area)
- Napa Valley (also an excursion, with vineyards for wine tasting)
2. LA:
- Hollywood (Hollywood Blvd., Mann's Theatre, Wax Museum...)
- Universal Studio
- Disneyland (in Anaheim, approx1.5 hours drive from city)
- Knott's Berry Farm (feature Snoopy characters)
3. LV:
- specially designed casinos and hotels along the "strip", and all kinds of shows and games centres
- M&M museum
- factory oultets nearby
- Grand Canyon (excursion trip)
Driving time:
1. SF - LA
- 8-9 hours by the inland highway non-stop
- 12 hours by the Coastal Pacific Highway
- stopovers: Santa Barbara, Monterey, Carmel etc. are nice towns to visit, also beaches along the coast
