Can anyone give suggestion for which soother to buy as my bb (5months) keeps putting fingers into his month pls help

I bought AVENT (3-6 months) for my bb. :-P But I don't know why there are soothers for 3-6 months and over 6 months! What is the difference?

buy 6mth+ la. but don't guarantee it will keep his fingers away from his mouth.
