Re: Help! How to employ a local Filipino maid by myself?
It's not difficult but very complicated, I think you are talking about renewing the contract with your current maid right? Application can only be maid one month prior to the expiry of the current employment visa.
First, you need to collect a set of forms from HK Immigration:
Renew Contract:
1. ID(E) 936A
2. ID91
3. ID407L
4. ID407 (= 4 sets of new employment contract)
5. ID407 (the current employment contract)
6. ID(E) 407K
when you have completed and signed all these, ask your Filippino maid to go to Philippine Consulate to process "contract verfication", address: 14/F United Centre, 95 Queensway, Admiralty, HK (Tel: 2823-8500). She has to bring:
1. Her old (current) contract
2. All 4 sets of new contract
3. Her passport
4. Her HKID
5. She needs to complete a registration form (obtain from the consulate when she gets there)
Then she'll need to go to the bank and deposit (i think about HK$300) as processing fee. Keep the deposit form and go back after a few days to collect the contract, passport and etc.
When you get the contracts back, write a cheque of HK$2,400 (1st levy installment), and apply with all the forms no. 1 to 6 you get from the Immigration above and go to HK Immigration with the following to apply for a renewal of employment visa:
7. Original of the helper's travel document
8. Copy of the helper's HKID card
9. Proof of the employer's financial position (copy)
10. Proof of the employer's residential address (original + copy)
It will take you only 1 mornng if you get everything completed and all documents ready.
Re: Help! How to employ a local Filipino maid by myself?
If the status is CHANGE OF EMPLOYER, application is similar but can also only be maid one month prior to the expiry of the current employment visa.
Collect a set of forms from HK Immigration:
Change of Employer:
1. ID(E) 936A
2. ID91
3. ID407L
4. ID407 (= 4 sets of new employment contract)
5. ID(E) 407K
when you have completed and signed all these, ask your Filippino maid to go to Philippine Consulate to process "contract verfication", address: 14/F United Centre, 95 Queensway, Admiralty, HK (Tel: 2823-8500). She has to bring:

9. Proof of the employer's financial position (copy)
10. Proof of the employer's residential address (original + copy)
11. Release letter from her current employer showing the date of expiry / termination of the contract
It will take you only 1 morning if you get everything completed and all documents ready.
