1) For long term value, mechanical watch is much more higher than quartz watch. If your husband likes watch, he MUST prefer mechanical more than quartz.
2) For budget within 10K - I suggest Omega / Tudor / Maurice / B&M / Tag
IWC and Pilot Watch is likely exceeded your budget.
Maurice and B&M are not common and good looking
Tudor means you cannot afford a Rolex
I would suggest Tag and Omega (speed master lowest model; trendy)
If you really like Tudor, I would suggest the one look like Daytona
Please note that you have to repair your mechanical watch (including but not limited to Rolex, Tudor, Omega, IWC) regular around every 3-5 years for oiling and the like, the repairing cost is around HK$ 1,000.00 up for Rolex.
Watch using battery required no maintenance at all, I have a Tag brought in 1987 which is still working properly.
