i have 3 kids, all were 'yellow' after birth, all needed phototheraphy and stayed in the hospital from 2 to 10 days
i was not as lucky as other mothers and didn't produce enough milk and thus could not "pump左帶去醫院" i just 'let it be' and took rest at home (of course i went to visit the bb once or twice a day)
after my bbs were discharged from the hospital, i fully breastfed them and thanks God, they didn't have nipple confusion and they accepted to be breastfed. one of the reasons may be ~ everytime, i requested the nurses at the labour room to let me breastfeed my bbs right after birth and I did it! my bbs have already learnt it and even they stayed in the hospital and were bottle-fed, they did not forget about 'being breastfed'.
talking about taking rest at home, i did try pumping but could only pump half oz. i didn't lose my faith in breastfeeding and when my bb was discharged, i breastfed them once they were hungry. be prepared, it won't be easy and it's actually very tiring cos they have not built up a pattern of drinking milk or sleeping but gradually things would get better.
