Just received email requesting to submit passport and cert. of No Criminal Conviction, is that the final step? Is that mean our application is almost been approved?
Besides, CGC also asking for my husband's 1. Letter from HK employer confirming resignation
2. Notice from HK Inland Revenue Department confirming departure
one you got hte resignation from the company, the company will issue the estimated income tax statement for you to submit to inland revenue, then you need to make the appointment with them to settle the income tax payment.
once you have that settled, they will issue you the notice to submit to the CGC. that's what i did 10 years ago.
But CIC don't normally ask for the “passport” so early ???
CIC normally confirmed and approved all your out standing documents, income tax, Certificates of No Criminal Conviction etc. are # ,@%, before ask for Passport ?????????? right ?
it is very complicated, CGC is asking me to submit my passport and the cert. of No Criminal Conviction, meanwhile, they also asked for my hubby's resign letter from the company and the letter to IRD. I am not sure why CGC need to have such documents, are they afraid my hubby will not leave HK, since my hubby is not resigned yet.
your case is same as me. Last year, I also received the letter ask about to submit my hubby resignation letter. But my hubby not yet resign. So we only provide the explanation letter explain our situation.
After submitted the letter, they ask me to submit the passport + 良民證. Finally, i got the PR status 1 month after I submit the passport.

Normally , ask for 良民證 , then Passport ???
Normally , CIC wont ask you Passport, before they confirm you clean 良民證 ???
We didn't quit the job finally, at the time the immigration request for the letter of release, we just submitted the letter to state the reason why we cannot quit the job at time.
After the letter submitted, they sent me the letter request for cert. of no criminal conviction and later asked me to send the passport to them.

I have checked my application, first I received the letter ask for my hubby resignation letter and apply the 良民證.
After I submitted the explanation letter. They sent me another letter ask for the passport.

Thanks for your info. I went to take the 良民證 today, and will submit my passport after my trip in early May. And also, my hubby and i also quit the job as well, and we are planning to leave HK in late June. All in sudden, so nervous about the packing matters now
