Hi, toffeeli,
Sorry for not replying in Chinese.
My daugther watched a drama, The Merchant of Venice, recently. She loves the drama very much. She urges me to buy her the book. In fact, I borrowed one from the public library. However, that one is too difficult for her. That's why I want to buy her some in simiplified English. In fact, I find Usborne's young reading version is quite good. Simple and with colourful illistruations. For me, I just want to arouse my daughter's interest in reading some classics.
Next time I visit the bookstore, I will take a look at the Usborne version.
Yes, Merchant of Venice is great. In my school days, this was the book for English Literature. To me, I still wonder about the friendship mentioned in the book.
I got one for my little girl...."The Shakespeare Collection- As You like it". It is suitable for kid around 6,7 years old. The layout is good...the book will introduce the characters at the beginning...so the kids can cross reference to these pages as they read along. I got it at Lee Garden II "Bookansen". They also sell some other Shakespheare books for kids.
The books they carry is quite a big variety and is cheaper than Page One.
She loves reading. She likes to read the book word by word loudly although she doesn't know all the words. How about your kid? What kind of books your kid read? My daughter likes a series of fairy books, oxford reading tree, some from magic tree house, etc.
Yes, that is exactly the one I am referring to. Actually I ordered some more from Bookansen last week. They sold out part of the series that I wanted to buy. They said will be around 10 days....and of course no courier charge extra.
Hope your kid will love it too.
I believe all kids should read at least one or two Shakespheare classics in their life.
