cocobean, I've actually posted a topic in kinder asking for comments on Leapfrog. How would you rate it? Your son must have enjoyed it since he is going to continue there. But any info you can provide would be great.

cocobean; I remember u, for the kinder, I will send him into abacus, cos I wanna he has a higher chance to get into CWB ESF school. And he will go to greenfield(hang hau) nursery next yr in Aug. Oh, may I know Pak Tam chung is also closer to chuk yeung rd or not? and when u send your son to leapfrog playgroup, u need to stay w/ him, or just let him stay there alone? what he learnt fm there? and how many times a week for how many hrs he is there? can your son talk now? mine just only 3 words, thats all, I m so worried. do u think your son talk more after u sent him to playgroup? and which langauge he could speak now? thks!!

Well for the playgroup at Leapfrog, they divide into 1-2 years old, 2-3 years old and 3-5 years old group. For 1-2 and 2-3, mainly is freeplay time, with like 15 minutes singing songs together. Unlike the playgroup offered by other organizations, leapfrog playgroups are not as structured and they don't have a theme in teaching particular skill. Not sure if this is what you're looking for. To me, since leapfrog playgroups only offer on weekdays, I don't mind sending my son there just to play around with other kids, I don't have much expectation that he can learn anything from there. You can choose either 1 day per week or 2 days per week session. Fee is comparatively reasonable so I let him continue joining there.
On saturdays, I'll accompany him to playgroup that can learn particular skills so that I can at least know his progress.

Right now, New Song, ESF Abacus is still my choice. My son can't talk much now, just some single vowels, however he can understand different instructions.
Pak Tam Chung is not too close to Chuk Yeung Road, however, only takes 5 mins of driving. For 1-2 and 2-3 years old playgroup at leapfrog, either a parent or a helper must accompany the child.
Knew that you're expecting another child now, congrats.
