The Administration regularly reviews the MAW for FDHs. Employers must pay FDHs a salary that is not less than the prevailing MAW at the time of signing the contract. This safeguards FDHs against exploitation on the one hand, and protects local workers from cheap overseas competition on the other. In the light of the general economic and employment situation in Hong Kong, the Administration has decided that, with effect from 31 May 2006, the MAW for FDHs should be increased by $80 from $3,320 to $3,400 per month. The new MAW applies to employment contracts signed on or after 31 May 2006.
so it's ok to pay her $3400 if she changes to a new employer (ie. me) and enter a new contract?
It is not a must to pay her >$3400 even if she requested?

How can a maid request the employer to pay more than $3400? Can we request our bosses to pay as much as we want for our salary?? - It will never happens. How can you satisfy her if she keep on demanding???
I will nerver hire a maid with request, as most of the maids don't do that.
