Dont worry, many people have this kind of cysts, which is very popular.
Doing surgery or not depends on the location of the cysts, if the cysts was in the uterus, if it is not big and the position does not affect the function of the uterus if pregnant, normally no immediate surgery is needed.
For those in the ovary, depends on whether it is a chocolate cysts or just clear cysts, if clear cysts, it may go away on its own, so may be your doctor may ask you to do another examination after your next cycle. If it is a chocolate cysts and is more than 5 cm, most doctor will recommend a surgery.
If he suggest you do do injection treatment, you may try it, I personally do not prefer surgery coz it is not good for health and for chocolate cysts even you do the surgery, it may occur again, you are still young, you dont want to do another surgery if it come back, right?
For the injection treatment, it is like menopause, is is not a good experience but for me I prefer experience that rather than doing a surgery.
For myself, I also have a 5cm chocolate cysts for 2 years, I take hormone treament but once you stop it, it will come back. So sadly there is actually no cure....
Are you married? If so, try get pregnant asap and give birth coz after all these treatment, it may affect you fertlity.....
I did not do the injection treatment. I take oral hormone. The cysts is still there after two years but the size remain the same.
The doctor suggest me to consider to do the surgery but if I wanna get pregnant, I should get pregnant first. So, now I stop the hormone and try to get pregnant.
One of my friend take the injection a few year ago at private doctor, it cost around $750 per shot and it need to take it for 6 months.
During the period she is injecting the hormone, she feel like menopause eg. Hot flash, sleepness, flucating emotion....etc, after finish the injection, everyting back to normal, no pain during M.
But in my opinion, since chocolate is due to "endometreosis" once it started, it cannot be cure and will reoccur. So I strongly advise, if you are married and would like to have baby eventually, please do not delay. Have it asap. Coz endometeroiss will decrease the chance of getting pregnant, the longer you have it, the more difficult it is.
