… as I said I just start to read the book about montessori’s education, I’m not sure how should we start this parent study group and baby playgroup. Please feel free to throw your idea. As a trial, I suggest we set 5 lessons as our first target, it will be a bi-weekly lessons starting from somewhere in March next year. Understand everyone are very busy and we will prefer to stick with our baby as long as we can rather than to go out to have the discussion, so we will discuss issues in this open forum. Probably meet once this Christmas and once after the CNY to discuss the framework and the way forward to organize this playgroup. We will form a reading list about Montessori’s education; please make your recommendation.

The playgroup is target for baby born in April – June 06

Venue rental fee is HK$350 for the first 2 hours. (i.e. HK$350 for one hour and HK$700 for 2hours)

Actual lesson duration maybe one or two hours depends on how many persons we have and what to play. Prefer to start around 2:30pm on Saturday or Sunday afternoon and have a high tea sharing session afterwards. So it probably takes up your whole afternoon.

Playgroup size is target for 10-15 families. As I’ve previously promised to the mami from the tsing yi baby massage class I organised, I shall reserve space for them if I form any PG. So the first priority will be given to the families who joined the baby massage class at tsing yi on 5 Nov 06.

Thanks for organizing such a meaningful group for us. I also buy the Montessori Education although I know nothing about it. I would like to join this group but I really hesitate on preparation for leading the session. Can you sort out the materials or structure a framework for our different sessions therefore the leading parents can simply prepare the materials and take lead?

By the way, I will suggest each session should be 1 hours. I have tried different playgroup and found 1 hours including warm up time should best suits our babies since they are still under 1 yrs old by the time we start this class.

in fact, my sister ( baby is 22months) also orangize such class with several friends at home .

they memtion that the no. of family should be 10
only or less.

second, my sister said we must consider the hygiene when we book the room for public.

Thank you for saurus to bring this topic and organise the pg about montessori’s education for us.

Now, I am reading this book. The montessori's thoery is to let baby learning from playing. So, we can refer to this book to design some simple games for us to play with our baby. And also we can find some teaching material, some toys which is suitable. At the same time, we can share our experience during the pg.

Before to start the pg, I think we must put effort to search much more information through the internet or books etc. Actually, it need spend time on this; but I think all mami and daddy would not mind to do so.

wow, just few hours from posting this topic this morning and the spaces almost filled up. the response is so well, i guess I don't have to worry if we can gather enough mami to form the class lor.

maybe i should increase the class size to 15 families.

as i said, families joined the nov 5 baby massage class has priority to join the PG, so these mami on waiting list will fill up the space first but only limited to 3 quota.
