申請BB身份證及旅遊証件

What kind of document do i need?
ID card?
Passport?

I am planning to go Japan with my 8 months baby

Both ID card and passport are needed. When you apply passport for your baby, you need to complete an I.D. card Application Form and submit with the Passport Application Form together.

yes, but this is NOT required for travelling to & from Japan.

So , if later I apply for travel documents for my son, shall I apply the HKID, passport, 回鄉證 and 回港證 as well?

Hi yeemelody,

HKID & passport: for overseas travelling;
HKID & 回鄉證: for travelling to & from China;
some people said HKID & 回港證 are required to travel to & from Macau, but other people said only HKID & passport are required for Macau.

For me, I just applied HKID, passport & 回鄉證 for my bb. When I travelled to Japan with my bb, I have only less than a week to apply the documents. The Immigration granted my bb a passport in 3 working days.

You are welcome.

Kindly note that it normally takes 20 working days for passport & HKID to be ready. If you are travelling in an urgency, Immigration can grant you a passport in less than a week provided that you showed them all the proof of travel (e.g. confirmation from agency or itenary). HKID is nevertheless required 20 working days. The Immigration officer said bb can use passport only to do overseas travelling if HKID is not available at the time of travel. That's exactly what I did.
