無線router, 係唔係set密碼會好d

如果無set密碼, 係唔係代表任何人可經我的router上網?如果非法下載, 係唔係入我數? 另外, 會唔會有人可以入到我部電腦度, 睇我d資料?

如要set密碼, 怎樣set? 係唔係要同和記寛頻的密碼分開enter? 唔好意思, 咁多問題。

You right, when your wireless route does not has any password, that mean everyone can through you route to access internet. If they preform any illegal download or upload, the boardband register has responsibility. They can't access your file excluded your had perfrom window sharing.

For the router password setting, please reference to your router document. Each password may be different is better.

You are right. Thanks for pointing out. Sorry if I have misled anyone.

I did not mention some router can hide the ESSID, not broadcasting it. Then, people can use it as a casual password.

The most proper way is to use WEP.

多謝各位指教, 我想再問係唔係無share自己電腦的file, 就不會有人入到我部電腦?

另外, 我的router是linksys, 我去到wireless sucurity個部分, 選wep, 但它問咗幾樣野:

Default Transmit Key (1-4應揀邊個?)
Passphrase:(generate)是甚麼?
k1至k4又應該填甚麼?

請教指,

Default Transmit Key (1-4應揀邊個?) >> either one, but should match with your client side. For me, just choose Key 1 for ease of remember.

Passphrase:(generate)是甚麼? >>Just simply input a word, or the password.

k1至k4又應該填甚麼? >>They will be generated automatically after you input previous Passphrase. Then those K1 to K4 codes act as the "keys" as mentioned in the first Default Transmit Key.

多謝指教。我仍然擔心唔識, 搞到兩部電腦都上唔到網。

可唔可set到去手動撥號, 較簡單d呢 ? 兩部電腦分別要點樣set 呢?

你看返說明書啦,密碼是每一個電腦連接到router時要輸入,只要入到密碼就沒問題唔會話整到2個電腦都上唔到網

You should choose WPA2 as encryption method if available because it is most secure. If no WPA2, choose WPA. WEP should only be used if neither WPA2 nor WPA is available.

以下是我個人意見, 唔好罵我:

As I know, WPA and WEP technologies focus on encrypting the transfer packets during the wireless connections. It is no use for home use because the technology is very easy to hack if some really wants to screen your packets. The only results is that you are wasting the resources for encryption and decryption. For limiting the access of your router, it be efficient for setting your own password for accessing the setup of your router, and use MAC limits which PC can access this router through internet both wired and wireless.
