don't use Ikea. many bad comments.
i use the one similar to that of Quickstep (v famous).
i was referred by my friend who used this flooring for 2 years without any problem. i am now using it. looks gd.
There are mainly 2 types of flooring products in Quickstep shop located at a corner of Wan Chai.
One is v expensive (around $7X) and the other is cheaper (around $3X)
I am using the one similar to the cheaper one but is a little bit thinner. And I bought them in another shop instead of Quickstep. Total cost including the installing fee is around $20,000 for 5XX sq ft (excluding 2 washrooms & kitchen). Completion time is one day.
Today I shop at Mongkok and get the quotation from Quickstep. It's quite expensive. For 280SF, it costs $15,000. Another shop quotes just about $7,500, half the price! But the "floor" is a little bit thinner and there are many brands to choose. What's the brand you adopt?
I'm also finding such decoration company. You can find the professional who calculate daily salary for the jobs instead of calculating by jobs.
For example, some co. may count the area of your flat and give you a standard price. (e.g. 280SF=$16,000). But for those who calculate daily salary, they will count the days spending on finishing the painting and times the daily salary (e.g. 7 days to complete with daily salary $800, then costs becomes $5,600). This will be much cheaper.
