I also have a 朱古力瘤, 5 cm, but it has been there for 2 years la. Before my doctor ask me to use contraceptic pill to control the size, the size go down to 2cm ar. But after that I want have baby, I stop the pills and now it grow up to 5cm again. I also dunno whethre to do operation or not coz my doctor said if it is 朱古力瘤, it will re-occur ga.
But if the doctor has experience, he can determine whether it is a 水瘤 or 朱古力瘤 ga. If 水瘤, sometimes, it will go away by itself ga, so u can wait and see and monitor it, if 朱古力瘤 it is a bit trouble, even if you remove it, it will reoccur ga.... so you may also consider taking contraceptic pills to control the size if you are not trying to get pregnant, if you are trying to get pregnant, you may try to get pregnant first, coz if you get pregnant the 朱古力瘤 will not grow ga... if you do not intended to get pregnant in future, you may just try the surgery to remove it , since even it reoccur, it may take a few years ga.....
Your are right, 朱古力瘤 is 無葯醫 ga. Even you do surgery to remove it, it will reoccur.
The reason I did not do surgery is that, I want to get pregnant, the doctor said, if I get pregnant, the 朱古力瘤 will not get big during pregnancy ga. So I can remove the 朱古力瘤 when I give birth the baby.
Do surgery or not depend on situation. If you have it when you are young, surgery may not be a good choice because when it reoccur, you will do another surgery again.... how many surgery can your body afford.
Also for chocolate cyst and clear liquid cysts it is rare that they will turn into cancer. But for solid cysts, it may, so every situation is different.
In addition 5cm is not really big. Normally for cysts less than 5cm, doctor will not recommend surgery.
For cysts bigger than 5cm, doctor start consider doing surgery. But I have friend who have cysts as big as 15cm........ So everything depends on situation...
Also doing surgery or not depend whether you still want to have baby or not . Or when you will want to have it. The treatment method can be very different. Need to discuss detail with the doctor, everyone have different cases and foucs.
Doing surgery may not be a best choice for everyone.
By doing ultrasound and a technology know as "Biopsy" can determine whether it is cancer or not without needing a surgery.
With the "Biopsy" result, you will know whether a surgery is needed.
For some cysts. eg. chotolate cysts. Even you do the surgery, it cannot be cure, there is a big chance it will reoccur.
For clear cysts, sometime it will go away on its own.
For solid cysts, with biosys, you can determine whether it is cancer or not and detemine whethe a surgery is need. If it is not cancer, it depend on the location of it, usually if it is in the upper part of the uterus, you need not do it. If it is in the lower part of the uterus, you need to do it. Also if it is big, it is better to do it.
Please note, every surgery no matter how small it is, involve "risk". It is also a chance that it will destroy the uterus or ovary funcation and lead to infertility. I saw many friend who cannot get pregnant afterward becuase they have done poor surgery.
So if anybody who consider to do surgery please consider carefully and discuss with your doctors.
Because sugery do not always cure the problem once and for all.
