i use baby wet wrips to clean my son... but he didnt like it that much in the beginning. what i do is i made it like a game for him. he is doing better now, well, at least he will open his mouth for me. and i always brush my teeth in front of my baby to show him how fun it can be and he has a toothbrush to play with too. try not to force your baby to open his mouth. also, since your baby is older, i think you can give a a toothbrush and play "brush teeth" with him.
