Basically, the public hospitals do not charge any operation fee, but since the materials of doing this surgery is really expensive, like the balloon & stents. So the patients need to pay the material fee only.
You know, 1 balloon costs few thousand dollars & each stent (something you put inside the blood vessels to keep them open) cost up to $ 10000 to $ 20000. But you may need few stents in each operation.
If somebody has financial difficulty, they can seek help from social worker, the assessment is really quick, depends on how urgent is your case & how quick you submit the documents for assessment.
