Well, if you have many tapes to convert and you are v free, you may buy a DVD recorder (w/o hard disk, v cheap gar or you may buy one with HD, not too expensive gar jar) and convert it using a video tape recorder lor.

That's what my colleague said when he persuaded his wife for new DVD recorder.

DVDs are divided into + and -. If you are using Philips, it is normally + gar. If your friend's DVD is older versions and could not read +, then he/she couldn't read the DVD produced by your recorder and vice versa lor. But nowadays most DVD recorders could read both + and - discs gar lar.

Moreover, if you haven't finalized the DVD and your friend is using a different brand DVD recorder, he/she couldn't read the disc as well. So, finalize the disc before passing it out.

Most of our colleagues and I are using Panasonic. Really reliable and they are actually doing a lot of "soaping" works and ship ~ all TVB programmes regularly for their family members (overseas).....

well, it is really useful gar. If your one is with 240G HD, could record up to several hundred hours of TV programme (if LP) gar.
