As the other mommy said, your routine is quite good. Just remember one thing, don't let your BB drink milk to sleep, or your BB will have milk bottle teeth (cavities due to babies drink milk to sleep). Try to give your son to drink milk before sleep, is your son likes to suck on something to sleep, give him a bottle of water instead. Also try not to bring your son out too much. Babies tend to get too excited from going out and will be harder to sleep. I do bring my bb out but I'll make sure she will go home to sleep by 2pm. Make it a routine that your son have to sleep at a certain time at a certain place. when babies gets older, they will try to do something they want instead of you asking them what to do. Just keep everything consistant and your son will know it's time for his afternoon nap later.
thanks for reminding me that milk to sleep will have milk bottle teeth. By the way, my difficult is that I couldn't find a good time for his last milk since he is very sleepy at around 9pm. Pls see his daily shcedule
7am wake up
7am milk
11:30am congee
2:30pm milk
6:00pm congee
9:00pm sleep + milk
There is only 3 hours between 6pm congee and the last milk, so he can't drink much if I give him the milk at 8pm or 8:30pm. I do tried to give him milk earlier ie 8:30pm but he always falls asleep when drinking milk. This may be due to I had breast feed him for 8.5months and he slept when drinking breast milk.
I very agree with you that consistency is very important in raising baby and they need training to set up the daily routine. If daily routine is properly set, it will be easier for us to take care of them. At least we know the reason of their cries. He is sleepy by the time for sleeping - 11am and 2pm but he resists to sleep because the world around him is really interesting. Therefore, the bedtime routine is so important.
Your son is so good, he sleeps in his stroller. My daughter doesn't sleep in stroller, she will look around and won't fall asleep even when she is very very tired.
If he is playing and you put him to bed, he will be unhappy. So you have to calm him down after play-time. Have u tried soft music or reading him a bed-time story?
Because we live in Canada I always drive and she is forced to sit in the carseat. She will get tired and bored when we go home but that time I won't let her sleep cuz once she gets home, she won't sleep anymore. Even if she've only slept 5 mins in the car.
