I am no better than you. I have 10 new Dr. Brown's baby bottles. My bb is still unborn yet.
I have read the original report: search google by `Bisphenol A (BPA) and baby bottles' you will find the report released on 27/2/2007 in pdf format.
Only 5 brands of baby bottles were tested include Avent, Dr. Brown's...that means other brands were simply not tested and their safety were unknown.
My understanding is all baby bottles made of a clear transparent plastic material are likely to contain BPA. Only glass bottles contain no BPA.
The question is how is BPA affecting our children and what dose is required to have the effect.
I think I will go on to use the bottles but replace the bottles every 6 months. I also found Dr. Brown has a new PES bottle which contains no BPA. The bottle is slightly brown and transparent. It is now on sale (40% off) in Jusco (Lok Fu) until 11/3/2007.
