We join local tour for all activities. Don't get agency from your hotel. It is cheaper from agency on the street.
”see Big show" - the name looks like Fantasea. It is worth to see once if you never see before. Most are foreigner and nice decoration.
Joining local tour to coral island to feed fish is worth too.
My daughter likes very very much the sea canoeing. You have to wear safeguard and the depth of water is 1-2 inch only in 紅樹林， 有時會將船仔使入ｄ洞， 係好好玩． (攀牙灣紅樹林國家公園之橡皮艇). On the same day, we can join to ride elephant.
So my daughter was tired and happy all the time.
I don't prefer to stay in Karon and Kata Beach as it takes more 30-45 minutes. So any one hotels in Patong is also OK except that in Karon & Kata. Most western people prefers staying in Kata and Karon beach as they like quiet. Actually, it is very very very quiet really ==> that means NO night market. For me, it makes me inconvenient.

Restaurant : I try Restaurant 99, restaurant in Crown Hotel, in Novetel hotel and nearly hotel. Most are from thailand fans comment.
Since I join tour and outdoor all the time, I just stay in 3-4 star hotel in 5 nights. If you live in Lagoon hotel, it is very very fast to anywhere.
If I go second time, I will choose :
Novotel Phuket Resort -- 3 big swimming pools
Amari Coral Beach - Japanese likes most
Deevana Patong -- cheaper choice
Novotel Phuket Resort & Amari Coral Beach is just $5-6xx , but last time I book at $12xx. It is worth...ha. And two are very safe and up in the hill without any impact of Tisurum.
I just came back from Bangkok yesterday, very nice place, I didn't been to there for 7 years, all the things changed. Our trip as follow:
D1- on flight
D2-Safari Zoo
D3-Farm Chokchai (highly recommand), on the same day to Pattaya
D4- Khoh Island
D5-stay in hotel relax, city walk around and view the sunset at the high point in Pattaya
D6-back to bangkok, shopping
D7- shopping (seafood dinner, yummy!!)
D8-back to Hong Kong
We rent a car from day 2 to 6 is around $360 per day, the road is good for driving, not danger, but not recommend to drive in bangkok city.
The farm is highly recommend, bscause no HK tour will go there, you can just join local tour or drive by your self, many anaminal for feeding and ice-cream is yummy, and there is a famous steak house from lunch. Must go.
