I ve a colleague who is going to give birth to a baby in the coming December.
Recently, her maid, after returning from Philippines for holiday(contract renewal), was found to be pregnant.
The maid wants to deliver the baby in HK and she has already registered the medical check-up service in one of the public hospitals.
As my colleague is going to give birth soon, she really needs to find someone else to help her. If she hires an additional maid, would it be very difficult for her to fire the original maid after the maid's giving birth? What additional cost will she need to pay then?
If the maid changes her mind and wants to go back to Philippines to deliver, is there any special things my colleague needs to pay attention to?
