It will be 'analgesia-inhal of nitrous oxid' so it's not 全麻. I didn't get the x ray but they showed me a copy of suggested treatment (and costs) with a diagram of the teeth, with indication which teeth need filling and which need crowning. It will take 2 visits to finish all the treatments.
I am so silly... I was thinking to show the paperwork to another dentist for 2nd opinion! It's better to just pretend taking my kid for check up as a new patient!
Thanks for your advices. BTW are you a doctor, Dr. Phil?

七隻咁多?你熟唔熟個牙醫? 信唔信得過?我會去 get second opinion.
所以我揀咗依家呢位牙醫. so far 都ok有無誇大個嚴重情度就唔清楚... maybe I should discuss with my husband this weekend about getting second opinion...
i was just wondering why you were still paying so much with dental insurance? the max. deductible/out of pocket must have been high?
maybe next time (of course hopefully no more next time!) you should use the $$ to travel back to HK and visit the dentist over there instead... I know that's what a lot of Asian whom live in the US (Thai/Chinese/Vietnamese) would do, because the dental costs are so much cheaper in Asia!!
yea last year when he had a check up I also thought baby teeth were going to fall so I ignored what the dentist suggested... and now there are like 7 teeth needed to be fixed!
luckily most of them just need filling, not crowning...
I won't mind to go student clinic if it is for myself... but I will rather take my kids to the pediatric dentistry so that I know they are in good hands... (one less thing to worry about!)
Thanks so much for telling me your story... wow $4000 with insurance plan?! That could be the air tickets going back to HK for the whole family!
However to think in a positive way - it's better to treat it early than too late... hopefully the adult teeth of your kid will be healthy and problem free!
Thanks Babytomato & Rose-mag for the advices... seems like I should take my kid to fix them now before they get worse... dentist claimed that there are total 7 teeth needed to be fixed!!! I don't know how severe they are (my husband went with my kid) but I know 2 of them will need crowning...
As for the pre-tax Medical Spending account, I think it is offered by the employer and deducted from the pay check? I work in a small company and there are not too many benefits or options available...
