I just got back from my Europe trip and I finally bought my first H items!
I have never bought any H items before and I am not very rich, so I was just hoping to find some entry price products such as garden party etc... But at the end I think I bought more than I expected...
Can you guess what these are?
I went to a total of 5 H stores in 4 countries and I was only able to score items in 2 of these stores.
I must thank my hubby for being so patient with me and do so much walking with me to hunt these items.
Before this trip, I looked up many posts here to get tips on how to get a H in Europe and so I would love to share my story here. I targeted GP or Picotin with nice colors as I don't have big budget and this is how it started...
The first day I arrived Amsterdam was evening already and we just decided to walk around our apartment which is near Dam Square and we passed by a famous department store de Bijenkorf and decided to go in take a look.
I was super surprised to see a Hermes shop inside and went inside to take a look.
I saw a Lindy 34 orange, my Kelly Pochette and a Kelly cut croco on the shelf, but with a "Reserved" signage. I was very disappointed, but the SA said I can still try them on if I want. I was like, "Sure, why not!" The Lindy was too big on me so I didn't ask much, but I really liked the Kelly Pochette as it was super cute and the SA taught me to use a long chain necklace to turn the clutch into a chain bag. I liked it so much and asked the SA if I could get one and he said, "Hmmm...if you can buy more things, maybe I can ask my manager if I can break the reservation..." Then I finally realize here is when the game starts and because I really liked the Kelly Pochette so I had no choice but to follow his game. I then asked how much I need to spend and he said around Eur 2,000. So at last I bought the chain necklace, a twilly and the red silkin wallet. And I didn't even see him call the manager so it was really just an excuse to call the manager...
Anyways I was really happy and excited but also worry if I did the right decision as this is my every first Hermes purchase.
The next few days I would also walk by this shop to take a look and the day before I left I saw a bamboo Herbag on shelf, but with a reserved signage again. I asked another SA if I could get it as I thought the price was very good, but he said, "You know the game.... I need another Eur 2,000 to break the reservation." But I thought this is only a Herbag, why do I need to spend as much I spent for the Kelly Pochette? And I don't really have anything else I want to buy plus I don't need two bamboo color bags, so this time I gave up and didn't buy anything...
So on the last day at Amsterdam airport I wanted to check out their Hermes shop once more but I was in a big rush as I spent a lot of time at the tax refund counter. By the time I rushed to Hermes, I didn't see much interesting items on shelf and thought I should be happy with my Kelly Pochette. Then I just casually asked the SA if there's any GP, and he said he doesn't have any, but he has a Herbag in burgandy and ask me if I mind that color. I was like, "REALLY?! CAN I SEE IT PLEASE?!" Then he took out a Herbag from the stockroom and I was thrilled to see it and ask if I can buy it? He said sure of course I can. At that moment I realized I don't need to buy anything extra to get this Herbag, I almost couldn't believe it! So at last I bought the Herbag and a twilly in like 10 mins and left the shop happily and rush to my gate. Now that I think back, I wish I had more time and maybe can ask the SA to show me more things...
So I would like to tell all JMs, if you have chance, remember to visit the Hermes shop at Amsterdam airport as the SA there are way nicer and won't make you buy extra products while the SA at de Bijenkorf department store are really greedy and tricky to deal with.
I wish all JMs can have a chance to find their Hermes goodies! :)
