If you don't want to go Lotus, just dining in different restaurants in all Laguna's hotel is fine. If u go Lotus, www.lotusphuket.com, u have to make reservation first (it's quite full), you can make by yourself or ask hotel to help u. They will send a shuttle to drive u there, just take a few minutes, good service with reasonable price. The atmosphere is very good in sandy beach at night time. U can also ask driver to drive u to 'Dino Park' restaurant, http://www.dinopark.com/gallery.html They will have an elephant at the entrance then u can take photo, it's quite far but interesting for kids.
For the local trip, you can join the 'egg island', elephant trekking or zoo, http://www.phuketzoo.com if u have kids. You can join these in Patong, the fee is much cheaper than the tour desk in hotel.
If u will go to Patong or elsewhere, You better rent a car or book a driver to send u to go. It's very expensive to take taxi in Laguna to Patong.
I plan to stay 5 days at Laguna beach Resort in July with 2 kids. I'll book 2 days cars with driver, do you have any idea for good places to eat and visit so that I can make a plan to the driver? In Languna area, except Lotus, any good restaurants nearby?
