Hi rose-mag,

Sorry little_angle, I'm not familiar with the school in Milpitas. I live in SF City. For pre-school, you can check the list on internet and see if there's any comments from parents. But, it's more important to go visit the place and see if you like it. I have started checking out pre-school for my son and I and my hubby look for school with the following criteria: -
1) safety : if there's fire distinguisher, sprinkler in the building; if anybody can get in without being noticed; how's the school's discharge policy (who can pick up your son when you're not available and how)
2) academic structure : what my son can learn in school; what's the daily routine; how the teacher deal with kid with learning problem.
3) food offered : we prefer school to feed our son with milk rather than juice; check if they can provide a general menu or what types of food the school offered
4) outdoor activity : if the school has a backyard for outdoor activity; how they bring the kids for outing
5) time : how many hours the school operate (some preschool offers only part-time and extended care needs extra cost)
6) tuition : how much is the monthly pay, any deposit, any donation required (some schools need the parents to help selling candy, buying raffle tickets, aution, etc. which means money in addition)
7) bilingual : we want our son to learn also Chinese
8) parent involvement : how we can communicate with the school
In SF City, most of the good pre-schools have a long waiting list and kids need to be fully potty trained (able to pull down, pull up their pants and clean themselves). We were told to enroll my son before he's born. Some of my friends wait for a few years but still cannot get in the schools. Hope that situation in Milpitas won't be like that.
