I have employed a Philippino maid for two years(1 contract) but I did not renew her contract. Her working performance was not good - very lazy in doing the housework, always talked on the phone,poor English and have difficulty in following instructions. She used to say "I forgot and I don't know" when I questioned her. Her private life in Hong Kong was very messy as I was told by the other maids that she got many boyfriends and even she had affair with a married man in Hong Kong.
You may ask why I did not "fire" her because I could not afford the time in employing another maid as my kid needed somebody to be taken care(my kid was in kindergarten, I and my husband were always busy on the business trip).
Now, my kid is going to the primary school and I can afford to change another maid to take care of him. On my story, I just want to tell all of you that even we cannot really trust the maid who has finished "one" contract as the employer is "forced" to keep her until the contract finished.
For all of your information, I've found that one pack of my birdnest was gone and the money in my kid's piggy box was also gone after my maid left. See, I never expected she would steal such things and even the kid's money in the piggy box.
My maid has found a new employer but I was told that she was terminated after working there for 3 days. She wass accused by her new employer that she stole the money from her new employer. At the end, the police discovered she stole the abalones from her new employer. See, don't even trust those who has finished the contract.
