I am getting so bored here in Sg (for my boy as well he is about 10 months old)

I know mums here don't response quickly, I am just trying my luck here.

I am planning to go to IMM or LOT 1? tmr (23 April) with my boy (first time to travel alone for such a distance with my boy) as I heard that there a children play area for kids. although my boy might not be old enough to join in but I just hope to get out of the house and let my boy to meet more people. it will be nice if anyone can join me.

Pls PM me if u fancy coming too or if u want to go out another time.

by the way, anyone know of any good play area for child?

Hi, my daughter also join the playgroup in Toa payoh, you can try:
1. Little Nero tree, they got branch in Toa Payoh
2. shichida which got branch located in HDB hub
3. the other one is private school, which in blk 81 hope i am not wrong, but forgot the address, if you want, i can find it for you. but they only accept 18 mths above bb.

if you are interested in little nero tree, join my daughter class, currently we are on sunday 2pm class, if you need more info. email me @ [email protected]

courses start from 18 mths onwards. if you are interested, call the school.

may join the class when my daughter turn to 2 yrs old. I think my daughter will enjoy it as she like music very much.

where your new working place? If nearby my office, we can catch up for lunch

cannot join playgroup on sunday as we need to go to church. do they have any sat session?

I also want to let my son learn music as he really love music, whenever he heard any music, he will stop and listen (even shake his bottom) he was so funny. music make him happy.

do u have more information about the music school? ie what do they teach, time, location and cost and etc?

I am even thinking about let him to have private lesson but not sure if this will be too early for a 1 yr old as I have lots of friend they are musician in professional. some are teaching in school and some are teaching privately.

I am still on my maternity leave (sort of) I already resign from my job in UK and waiting to start my new job in sg in 2 wks time/

its hard but enjoyable to look after my son as I can see him growth and learn new things. but I do want to get out of the house and go back to work as I believe that I will enjoy even more when I come back after work when I play with him.
I am just worry that I will be too busy after I start work, I hope can go home on time and the traffic will not be too bad.

After attended the playgroup, i found my daughter improved alot of her motor skill and memory skill. I will let her continue this weekend playgroup till she turn to 2.

Beside there, i found a school who teach music for infant, it is fun. maybe i will bring her to try try... who knows she like it, right!

oh, now you still on your maternity leave. I think it is tough to look after a bb at home compare going back to work, right?!

oh sound very scary lei. lucky that yr hubby was there otherwise I cannot imagine what will happen
by the way, how old is yr daughter? they should have somesort of door or gate which stop kids leaving the place without adult supervision.

nevermind as least yr daughter enjoy her playgroup every sunday

I am thinking of sending his to a sat playgroup after I start working and send him to nursery when he is 2yr old.

let see how things go after I start work (mid july)

My daughter joined the trail class last week in United Square, I heard some friends said the childcare is good, but the queue is long, I am thinking let her try if she likes the environment, I will enroll her and join the q, normally the waiting list about 1 yr.

Overall, the teachers teaching skill pass, during the class they learn sing songs, matching, Zoophonic, etc...

But I will not join the waiting list as when I put my handkerchief in my bag, less than 1 min. my daughter disappear and I asked for teachers and parents help, seems nobody care. I am so panic at that time. Lucky my hubby wait us in reception area, when he was suprise why my daughter alone in outside.

As everybody know that United square is very crowded place during weekend, if my hubby not sat outside, then how? I really very panic and upset. I dont want lost my daughter as I already lost my son a mth ago.

My daughter still attend the playgroup every Sunday in Toa Payoh, the school is good, she learn alot of things. Most important is she likes the school and teachers.

good for u to leave so close to yr work place.
It will take me at least an hr to travel to work in the future. so I am worry that I will not have enough time to take care of my son also I will have to expect to do OT from time to time

I also join a playgroup few wks ago and they are very good. they teach diff things each wk like weather and introduce A, B, C and etc. my son enjoy playing with other kids too but I am worry that my son will have to stop going when I go to work since they need parent to attend too and donlt think my in law will do that as most of the parent are foreigner

Driving also very headache in Singapore, always got traffic jam in the morning, if you r taking buses, maybe more faster than driving. But of cos if you have a car, it is very convenience during weekend when you bring your son go out. I only drive during weekend, other days, i give up

do not have patient to wait...

Last week, my daughter went to palygroup for 1st lesson. At first, she's abit scared, sat down very quiet, after 10-15 mins warm up, she started to move around and play with others, of cos she cant concenrate for long.

Last week the playgroup theme is japanese, I saw her classmates, they are all very smart. Quite surprise me that they understand some japanese words and even can talk very simple words (both are between 13-16 mths), the class size is 6, teacher overall ok... will let my daugther to try few more lessons, see how it goes... Next will the the class's theme will be chinese.

I am just worry that the working hr will be long and I will not have time playing with my son so we will consider buying a car so as to shorten the travelling time which mean can spend more time with my son

normally i will go to bookshop called popluar or borders, mpa, etc... to buy books. sometimes I will see any discount books suitable for my daughter... mostly i will buy less than $10 books, unless the books very good, then i will buy it.

Ya, you can apply popluar card, all items have 10% off.

I also bring my daugther to library sometimes. But we seldom go to shopping centres, unless we have something want to buy. I found singapore shopping centres not like HK, not much choices and expensive.

yeah bb are more clever now. are u full time mum or working mum?

I went to paragon today and saw a shop which sell very educational toys and I would like to buy it for my boy, my boy still can;t say a word so everytime when I teach him or talk to him, its like talking to myself.

my life is very boring too. I usually watch HK TV in the morning (online) and play with my son (plus do house work and cook for my son) then in the afternoon either more house work or rest. but most of the time I will go out with my son either to Orchard or just somewhere near our house.

by the way, do u know where I can buy book which are value for money? I saw some few good one at ELM today but not sure if there anywhere I can get it cheaper.

oh it will be good if anyone can share if they see any bargain which mum do so in UK and they will let other mum

She likes to see a show called Hi5, etc... on oktoday. This is a good channel to let her learn something new.

Every day, i will bring her to playground and see people play basketball.

This is what my life in Singapore, sounds boring, right?!~

I just let my son to play and didn;t teach him anything in formal yet.

but I know a Sg friend her husband is from south america so she teach her son Eng, Chinese and Spanish since he was about 4months old and her house is full of all sort of cards

I think I am a bit too lazy in teaching my son. have to add oil sin
