[荃灣區] Phonics 班邊到好? [複製鏈接]

請問大家覺得荃灣區邊到學phonics好呢? 請問有無人去過南豐10樓 doremi 學過呢? 唔知好唔好???

sorry that i ve no first hand exp. about these three centres.

From their websites, kid-smart is using jolly phonics together w/ some oxford bks (本課程採用英國最受歡迎的Jolly Phonics及牛津大學出版社的英文閱讀故事書，由外籍英語導師作專注閱讀訓練，增進孩子對英文書本的興趣、理解能力，從而豐富詞彙、改善發音技巧). whereas jolly clown said it's using jungle joy phonics (http://www.jollyclown.com.hk/)which i m too naive that i ven't heard before.

jolly kingdom also claimed that they ve modified the original jolly phonics material (they are using a hybrid of synthetic and analytical approach (for details, pls read http://www.jollykingdom.com/eng/p6.htm)

You may wish to note the following pts:
- is your kid's school also teach him/her phonics and which material they are using? [to avoid confusing him/her w/ a completely new system]
- the "weakness" of phonics [http://happypama.mingpao.com/cfm ... 90503/spea/oka5.txt] (pls kindly note that Eng speaking ppl using phonics to teach their kids to read. An Eng speaking env't is part of the factor to make kids learning phonics being able to read by themselves. But quite a no. of HK local primary schools are using phonics for a tools of spelling/dictation. ve to bear in mind that the kids ve to learn quite a no. of "exceptions" if they ve to learn spelling by using phonics (that's why kids using jolly phonics will also learn the "tricky words")

- hooked on phonics
- RWI
- jolly phonics
- letterland
.............
would u like your kids to learn.

As far as I know, TW Parson's hooked on phonics class on Thurs are "letter sounds" and "letter names" for 2.5-4 yrs old. They should be using the "Get ready to read" program ([url]http://www.polyedhk.com/Products.asp?NewsID=50[/url]). The course fee is $180 per class but you have to take into account the material cost. I don't ve first hand experience in the material but know a fd who's kid is around 2.5 yrs old and is already using the Kindergarten set (i.e. more advanced level) for learning blending (He knew all phonics sounds before using that set).

ABC pathway's phonics course is RWI which is for going to K3 or above. RWI is getting more and more popular in UK. But as it's for older kids, I don't ve any exp and ven't done any research at it yet.

If you want to learn Jolly phonics, you may consider the Jolly Phonics plus class for 3 or above in Jolly Kingdom http://www.jollykingdom.com/eng/p4.htm (a new centre is recently opened in TW). My son who is 2.5yrs old is using Jolly's finger phonics books and Jolly songs (u can bought from wisekids) for learning the "sounds". So far, I don't find using the materials difficult and thus ven't consider any phonics class. You may download the free guide in http://www.jollylearning.co.uk/ for basic ref. Some int'l school is using Jolly phonics (like YMCA Int'l kinder in TST).

For letterland, u can go to Littleton in Discovery Park. As letterland is even easier to teach at home, I don't see the need to learn it thr attending phonics class. basic info of the material can be found at http://www.letterland.com . Some local kinder, like LH, is using letterland.
