Dear kim08,
My itenerary in HKT and BKK,
Day 1: Stay in hotel and enjoy the hotel facilities.
Day 2: Snorkeling in Raya Island.
Day 3: Phuket Town and Patong.
Day 4: Swimming in hotel. Evening flight to BKK.
Day 5: Crazy shopping (of course, my wife only, especially in Naraya) in Central World. Evening flight to HKG.

If you plan the snorkeling in HKT, recommend you to take the website Thai Meteorological Dept to check HKT wave height: http://www.tmd.go.th/en/province.php?id=75

My 2 cents :

1. Speedboat with kids - sit in the middle (on 2 sides) of boat, less bumpy. The back is best but could get too much sun. Bargain off the rack price (not in hotel but street stall). Try 50% off for adults & free for kids!

2. Phi Phi vs Egg island - Phi Phi is famous & u can take a photo or 2 at most, otherwise, Egg island is small but nice. Bring some snacks for kid as there isn't much supply there. Bring old bread to feed the fish as well. Grab them from breakfast.

3. Dinopark - I haven't been there, but it has its point for kids.

4. Patong - Haven't been there for a long time. Won't be too comfy for small kids. Better not prepare to stay there for too long.

5. Central Festival Shopping - fine air-cond, good for a walk if need to kill time or as a rain plan option.

6. Bangkok - staying at Centara Grand can be very convenient to put your shopping bags back to the hotel right upstairs.

7. Siam Paragon - best shopping in my opinion. Can visit the aquarium in basement, something like Atoll Reef in Ocean Park.

我差不多每年都會去布吉, 每次都有去島玩, 而10月前的話, 好多酒店都有優惠, 我今次會在 19/AUG 出發, STAY 6 晚!
如果去布吉, 自駕會方便好多, 因為車費都幾貴!

另, 樓主, 日落崖都好值得去, 如果自駕從PATONG去只需 35分鍾, 唔太遠!

其實你帶住 BB, 應該住 EVASON 會好 D, EVASON 有個私家島, 坐 10 MINS船就到, 好方便!

Dear Chuchuma,
For me, I will go to there next Fri. No matter what the weather is, the important thing is your availability. Dry season in HKT is Nov till Apr, but it is a peak season also. The cost is much expensive. For example, the hotel we stay - Sheraton Grande Laguna, its island villa nite rate through travel agent is just below HK$2000. In peak season, HK$2000 could pay for a garden view twin room per nite only.

Wet and windy season does not say rain w/ strong wind every day.

For me to snorekling, I will check the weather forecast once arriving there. Suggest you don't book any snorekling or island tour too earlier.

Which travel agent you booked? Package cost?

Hi chingchingfa,

Is it the right time (may be not the best time) travelling to Phuket ? It is my first time to Phuket and as the BK mom mentioned, it may be raining (wet or windy) until Nov.

I have booked the package to Phuket, 4D3N is confirmed but still on waiting list if we extend our trip for 1 more night.

We will stay in Sheraton Grande Laguna Phuket, any places we have to go with my son. I am also worry about travelling to EGG island may not be suitable for my son.

I have 5D4N for this journey also, 3N in HKT and 1N in BKK. For me, I just want to enjoy the timeless holiday w/ kids, just relax in hotel, no such itinerary for sightseeing there. And thus, I choose to stay in Laguna region.

Actually, all quality places for sightseeing are not in Phuket Island itself, you have to take the sea transport to Phang Nga, Egg Island, Racha Island, Phi Phi Island and Krabi.

My wife likes shopping and thus we spend 1 N in BKK for her. This could stop her saying "boring".

Transit in BKK is so easy. Don't worry! If you take TG, you can choose direct flight from HKG>HKT depart on Wed, Fri and Sun. BKK stopover is available in your return way.
