I am back to HK for 2 months. I got a job and I am happily working now.
I just almost forgot what my life was when I was in SG. haha
Regarding people say SG is better for kids, or move to SG because of the kids. Well, I don't agree with that. For the sake of kids, I will prefer HK. SG is such a small country, what kind of achievement they are going to have there? Most of the "western" people I met in SG told me they don't like SG also, and they will just move back after few years because SG is too small, not much opportunities.....

Did u report the agent to the police then? Did yr hb's company take any action? I know pp who is not fluent in English always look for MP help....
All the places which have Chinese, their ancentors were came from China, that is the fact. But how come nowadays Hongkongers so dislike China pp to come to HK and no matter wat, they still call themselvers Hongkongers instea of mainland pp?? That is a different.....unfortually most of the mainland are rude, they follow rules, jump q.......etc which make pp dislike it.
I found that mainland pp in Singapore are more willing follow the rules and more polite...I think that is because Singapore is not thier homeland but Hong Kong is part of China, so they think they can do watever they want same as when they were back home.
My son's Chinese teacher is from China and I like her very much...she is graceful, loving and caring about my son...so I really don't discriminate mainland pp but I can see the different.
Did u read the news about this girl from mainland China top the PSLE score this year??? She came here to study P3 with no English background and in 3 yrs time she score all A's in PSLE....not many Singapore children can make it and yet she did it....so I really believe if we try hard, the effort will not be waste.
Of course it is tough to live in a new country where there is no friends and relatives, and can't communicate. When I first migrate to SG with my parents. I don't want to go school as u know we speak Cantonese in school and don't speak English at all. I can't communicate at all and can't follow wat the teacher say in class. And the culture is so different from HK, i cried every nite and ask my parents whether i can go back HK. Can u imagine 30 yrs ago how is singapore like, SUPER boring place, no attractive TV prgramme and that time video tape is not popular so we can't watch TVB series at all so can u imagine wat kind of life we are living???
But soon all of us adopt to it, my parents got me tution teachers to help me with my school work and my school mates are all very nice to me and most importantly my school teachers understood my siutation and willing to help me to pull thru.

I know it is not easy to live in a totaly differnt place with nobody u know but for the sack of our next generation, we got to accmodarate. I believe all the mummies here is not that old that can't learn, we can take up English and Mandarine course. Even though not for ourselves we should do it for our children or else we can't help them with their school work also. In HK, the standard is not low either.
The law system is SG is trust worthy, if u have any doubt in renting hse or anything, can look for those big agent name like ERA...so far I really did not come across any cheating so far.
I personally still like HK, I go back very offent, 3 to 4 times a year. I love the food, shopping etc but now HK too many China pp which really put me off.
