Hello all june mama,

has anyone thinking to keep cordblood? if so which cord blood bank you will choice and y?

I have done some research but still thinking now. I wana to have some comments from others, pls share if you have already chosen one. thanks a million :loveliness:

Hi bb77,

Yes, I am going to the 2:30pm session for Cryolife. Re the Cordlife, guess they haven't offer any "formal" lab visit yet but heard that they will be opened to public after Mar 23, however, due to some special request and arrangement, Cordlife can offer me a visit to their new lab in Shatin....hehehe so that i can go to both Cryolife and Cordlife on the same day

Update: Just registered on Cordlife website but no date confirmed. It said Cordlife will call me to arrange for a visit.

I have visited Healthbaby in Jan. Cryolife will hold a talk/lab visit on March 20 and since Cordlife's new lab is located in Shatin as welll, so i have arranged an appt with Cordlife to do the lab visit on the same day. If you are interested, may go online or call to their hotline to go registered.

u are very welcome, i am not expert la, i jus did lots of research before i make a decision, coz i think both companies has they own good, but i need to compare the best fit my needs.

I didn't have chance to visit cordlife's lab, but i know they have just moved to science park. I think its worthwhile to take a site visit and see see and u can also comapre with HealthBaby's too, also in science park.

Cordlife also invite me to visit when I join that day, but i just dont have time, I joined anyway, so go ng go dou mo sor wai la... ehehheeh i am lazy lei.

U can call a cordlife consultant and ask all ur concerns and book a time to visit their lab, hope u can find what u need la.

no la, cordlife only offer $2000 off, no playpan.

I personally prefer cash rebate then gift. but of coz i didnt join cordlife based on the price and discount. i did research and look for info and found what i want from cordlife. so i joined.

Here is what my Dr. and my friend's Dr has conclude b/w Vapour and Liquid Nitrogen Constant.

Vapour Nitrogen Constant:
- More effective temperature control
- there is a back up alarm system. once if the temperature of the vapour nitrogen changes, the alarm system would automatically adjust the temperature
- the probability of contamination would be lower then liquid nitrogen contstant

Liquid Nitrogen Constant:
- Less safe
- When the temperature of the liquid or environment changes, there will be chances for bateria or virus getting into the cord blood which had happened before in a few cases.
