請問如果小朋友現在在港讀中一,想今年9月去加拿大,是否可升讀grade 8?要考入學試嗎?要幾時向學校辦手續?請各位幫忙!

abbey. yes. once your children arrived canada, and have a permenant address. they could go to the nearby school for info . or you could go to the district school board to ask for the latest info.
the processing time so far as i knew is only 1-2 weeks as the kid need to sit for the english proficiency test to determine which grade they could be in.

regarding to your reunion application. i don't know how long it takes. my girl friend who submit the form in hk while her husband stays in calgary took only 8 months to get it done.
for your case, if i were you, i don't really care how long it take provided i will be with the family. then just come and do the submission.

我唔係好明,孩子及其父親都係citizen,點解仲要申請移民?定係你未有加籍,所以申請家庭團聚呀?有籍o既幾時都可以回流返去o架啦,我仔16歲係hk出世(有加籍)他6月返去讀書啦

Emily, so far i knew, you could just go to the school in your area and tell them u have children with school age. they will get your english test and assign you which grade should be in. if the english test not passed, then will have to take the ELS class to improve english. not sure what do u mean by 不能編主流班與其他同學一齊?

abby - "我下年都會同老公+3個小朋友返去" are u returning citizen? if so why need the agent? if not, just wonder how come u could set the time frame when to come here?

各位媽咪,

剛收到移民局通知已批，要出年1月前LAND，如果小朋友趕今年9月開學，好像很趕，我們還未準備好。

他們入學前要考試(英文和數學)，如果成績不理想，是否不能編主流班與其他同學一齊?

我都係過來人, 我去年同老公+3歲BB回流多倫多。
我都覺得搵CONDO住要親自去睇好D, 真係唔好心急! 我睇樓時, 有D野在網上睇的又真係有分別呢! 尤其附近的環境, 網上肯定睇唔到!
睇樓盤時, 帶住小朋友係辛苦D, 但住屋唔係住一兩日喎。且, 睇一星期左右已有心水(如果你唔太奄尖), 過程都好簡單, 問題不大。

如果有小朋友就要更加要小心，因為環境、座向、附近設施等等都好重要，可能對小朋友有影響。我試過睇過一間condo，對面係一座大華人超市既後門，嗰日睇樓有小小風，d臭味吹晒過嚟condo呢邊，住底層果d開咗窗應該會聞到，就算係地下花園都好大陣味。所以就算租樓都要好小心，如果間屋有咩唔好，住一日都唔想。你帶住小朋友睇樓最多咪一兩個星期，但係間屋就起碼要住一年喎（通常一年租約）。
