any mum can tell me, is kindergarten the same as preschool ? at what age a child would be admitted to kindergarten / preschool ? age 4 ? are they one year programme ?

Kindy here is a one-yr program for the 5 yr-old kids. Usually, kids will go to sch 5 days a wk for the public sch.

Pre-sch starts from 3 yrs old and usually attend only 2-3 days a wk. The trick is u can enrol your kid to 2 pre-sch and let them go to sch 2-4 days a wk.

Both kindy and pre-sch runs fr 9 am-3 pm and you have to pack lunch box and prepare morning tea for your kid. ** kids must be toilet-trained.

Or you may consider child care centers (can be fr new born up to 5), usually they run fr 7 am to 6 pm with all the food and nappies provided, of course much more expensive.
