Thanks for mentioning some great clubhouses.
Clubhouses are convenient for sure, especially for kids,
but I think private clubs function very differently.
Some private clubs offer kids activities, but most function as a social club:
one-stop place for family days, eating out, seeing family friends, meeting business associates, dinning and drinking with friends at night, etc.
lots of estate's clubhouse are quite gd, saw some at my friends' place in sai wan ho, tai wai, cheung sha wan, have badminton courts, swimming pools, bbq, sing k rooms, kids playground. lots to do n close to home, i prefer these over the old style (expensive) clubhouses

I've been away from HK for so long.
Even if I am lucky enough to bump into a hot actress, I don't know "what" 水 ar.
Agree, probably much affordable in the past.
In the past 15 years or so, HK has a huge spurt in new wealth.
Humm... all I want is just a "quiet corner" in a busy city.
