Hi there,

Anyone knows if I have to pay the school fees for kindergarten or pre-primary school while we are holiding the 457 working visa? many thanks!

我朋友的小朋友一般4歲去kindy, 4歲半或以上就可以讀prep, 即入小學了. 不過不知道是否全國學制一樣呀.

我有另一個朋友的女兒, 就每天跟保姆到公園, 和其他小朋友玩. 每星期參加一次playgroup.

很多時教會都會辦一些playgroup, 住落之後可以留意下. 我囝囝間學校就每星期有一日借地方俾D媽咪開playgroup.

go to playgroup, library to make some friends for yourself and your son. maybe volunteer to some community activities.

You can be a full time mum to look after your son. In Australia, kid go to kindergarten at 5 (correct me if I am wrong), by then, you probably holding PR visa la~ fingers crossed!!

You can consider to send your kid to childcare one or two days a week so he can make some friends there.

Not yet!... my husband is still working hard for his English test... hopefully we can come by the end of this year....

Anyone knows about Bunbury? There is a new position there and my husband will take it.

My 2 yr old son is going to the nursery this September in Hong Kong. I am just wondering whether he will get used to new environment - no friends, no schooling, if we move to Australia. And we are holding the working visa, so we cannot enjoy the childcare benefit... but I think it's better to go to school at 4 or 5... that's why I am asking about the kindergarten or pre-school education... maybe I can get some part time jobs to earn money for him to go to school...

different childcare charging differently, I am paying around $60-$70 a day, expensive childcare charge over $100 a day! so it all depends.

go to playgroup, there are heaps church organize kids playgroup, normally they charge few dollars or some may be free.

also, rksun's suggestion is good. check the library at your area, most of them has kids story time. The one at my area, the lady use English, Chinese & Mandarin to tell story.

Are you in WA now? I know some if the library offer free story time for the kids, you may see whether any session suitable for your kid.

you will need to pay for childcare, long day care , pre-school. As PR, we can get a rebate from the government, but TR is not entitle for the rebate.

I don't know about kindergarden.

Depends on states, for primary and high school only NSW required school fees.

For pre-school and kindergarten I believe yes you are required to pay because even PR has to pay, correct me if I an wrong.
