但係我仔上年考試時都做過呢條題目
我仔個補習姐姐教佢時係用is

咁佢考試時就填is啦
點知個老試就話應該用 are
係眾數喎

我都攪到亂晒籠

我會用,
There is an apple and an orange on the table.

There are apples and oranges on the table.

有錯指正,因為我一向都是這樣用,如果叩我解釋,我又不知怎麼講

Collins Cobuild English Grammar says about whether to use “is” or “are” in sentences using “there” as its subject. It says that you use “a singular form of ‘be’ (which is “is”) when you are giving a list of items and the first noun in the list is singular or uncountable.

are又好似唔順,,

yes, 照我理解就係咁啦
即係個VERB跟個NOUN係plural 定singular, 黎決定用is 定 are

The original sentences should be:
1. There is an apple.
2. There is an orange.

The answer should be 'is' as it describes the apple not the orange. Correct if i am wrong. Thanks!
