You're right, it wasn't cheap. Since we weren't familiar with the place, we could only rely on the hotel concierge for recommendations and they were as touristy as you would expect.
We flew from Beijing as an excursion to our Beijing trip. I can't remember how much the tickets were but they weren't really expensive as we caught them on promotion.
